How to process your revision
Seamlessly navigate the process of revising your academic article.
Here are the steps you can follow during the revision process. This process will begin after the peer review stage is complete and the editor provides a decision to revise your manuscript. You may see and access the comments from one or more reviewers in your article panel during 'Under review' step, but still, you need to wait for editor decision to access the 'Revision Panel'. You will get an email regarding the status of your manuscript and tell you to revise your article; in this situation, the 'Revision' button under your article will appear.
1. Receiving an email
You will receive an email from the Editor-in-Chief or Sectional Editor regarding the latest status of your article. Revision statuses include major revision, minor revision, manuscript sent back, and galley proof. Check the meaning of your article status here. The email will contain information about the deadline to submit the revised manuscript and any requested files. Please be aware of the manuscript status. If it is marked as manuscript sent back or galley proof, skip to step 3. However, if the status indicates major revision or minor revision, proceed to step 2.
2. Downloading the peer review comments
Upon receiving our email, log in to your user panel to access reviewer comments. In the user panel, select the 'My Article' tab. Here, you can view your article list, including its status, reviewer comments, revision history, and data. The interface will look like the image below.
Figure 1. My Article tab panel shows the author article list.
To access reviewer comments, click on 'Comment 1', 'Comment 2', and so on to open the 'Comment Page'. Some reviewers may choose to provide comments within the manuscript file, so ensure that you download any files present on the 'Comment Page' to ensure all reviewer comments are noticed.
Alongside this revision process, the Editor-in-Chief, Sectional Editor, or Managing Editor might also provide comments. You can find these in the 'Revision Manager' by clicking the 'Revision' button, as seen in Figure 1. In the 'Revision Manager', you must download the 'Academic editor comments' file or 'File for peer-review' file. This file is the updated version managed by the editor, so your revision process should be carried out on this file to maintain content organization and freshness.
3. Revision
As you may jump to this step (skipping the step 2), access the 'Revision Manager' by clicking the 'Revision' button, as seen in Figure 1.
You can find the editor message or comments in the intial tab of the 'Revision Manager'. Otherwise, please check the 'Files' tab and download the latest 'Academic Editor Comments' to find the editor comments.
After you get all the necessary files for revision, refine your manuscript and address all reviewer and editor comments in a 'Rebuttal Letter'. An example of the rebuttal letter file (in Microsoft Word format) will be sent along with the email notification of your article's revision status, or you can download it here. Revise and prepare all required files before the deadline set by the editor. Please feel free to request an extension for the revision period by emailing the editor. Furthermore, adhere to all the instructions for author and our editorial policy to ensure that your article consistently aligns with our criteria.
4. Uploading the files
Once your manuscript has been revised and all requested files are ready for submission, access the 'Revision Manager' by clicking the 'Revision' button. Revise all metadata as required following the update of your revised manuscript (title, abstract, keywords, etc). Scroll down to access the 'Files' panel, as shown in Figure 2.

First, select the 'New File', fill in all the necessary data fields, and choose your revised manuscript file. Then, click 'Add Another File' to provide the rebuttal letter file and any other requested documents. After selecting all the files and completing their data, click 'Next' to fill in the additional information until you find the 'Save' button. Click it to store your revision. If you encounter any issues at this stage, contact the ETFLIN management team at halo@etflin.com.
5. Final
After you complete all the above steps, you will receive a confirmation email confirming that the editorial team has received your revision. Good luck with your paper.
